Position Summary
The Maintenance Worker operates and maintains mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in good repair and a safe environment.
Essential Functions Monitor and maintain plumbing, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical installations and repairs, and heating and air conditioning systems.
Maintain and repair center physical facilities including sidewalks, fences, grounds, roads, and any equipment affixed to a structure as an integral component.
Install appliances and equipment.
Perform custodial related duties as needed.
Monitor and respond to work order requests submitted by staff in the automated work order system and ensure timely repairs.
Keep equipment, tools, and supplies clean and organized.
Utilize vehicles for center-related needs such as golf carts, hand trucks, or riding mowers.
Perform general maintenance tasks for the buildings, such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting, etc.
Promote a harassment-free environment.
Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and Strategix training.
Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.

Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student's personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Minimum
High school diploma or equivalent, good reading, math, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS).
Technical training and general knowledge of maintenance/repair and two years related experience.
Information technology knowledge.
Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.
Preferred
Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers and other building systems, OSHA-10 certification.
