Responsibilities
• Specializes in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for breast cancer detection.• Responsible for the success of the mammography service in the practice.• Assist practice in ensuring all eligible patients have annual screening mammograms.• Prepares patients for the mammographic procedure and explains the process to reduce anxieties.• Adjusts mammographic equipment and controls to set exposure factors.• Practices radiation protection techniques and follows safety standards.• Examines digital images for quality and maintains equipment.• Performs required QA testing, maintains patient confidentiality, and processes paperwork.• Participates in professional development activities and prepares reports and data.• Assists Radiologist with QA/QC reporting, tracking, and maintaining accreditation.
Requirements
• Up to date on all CME credits.• Patient-centric, compassionate, and computer-savvy.• Able to perform various technical activities associated with mammography procedures.• Flexible, multi-tasking, and willing to cover on short notice.• Minimum 2 years of experience in mammography.• Must hold ARRT license.
