Responsibilities include:
Primarily responsible for taking control of problem credits in the bank's loan portfolio and for developing loan action plans for these relationships that would minimize bank losses. Represents the bank, by meeting customers, other staff, attorneys and related professionals in a professional and confidential manner.
Provides prompt, efficient and accurate services in the handling of challenging relationships. May provide counseling and guidance in the course of supervising the loan portfolio's performance to lending staff on credit structure and account problem solving.
Responsible for the compilation, evaluation and implementation of workout strategies to lessen the banks risk of loss on its commercial loan portfolio. Provides account information for external auditors. Works with Credit Administration in recommending provisions for loan losses, loss recognition and change of risk rating on loans managed; and, offers guidance to line officers on such matters for special mention or higher accounts.
Coordinates with the outside legal counsel and the Collections Officer on carrying out specific servicing plans for individual credits or loan restructures.
Skills/experience/training required: Four (4) year college degree (accounting or business concentration preferred). Minimum of five (5) years related experience in commercial lending, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in workouts. Thorough knowledge of lending policies and procedures. Working knowledge of bankruptcy law. Knowledge of accounting principles Familiar with workout strategies, collections, banking regulations, Maine law and bankruptcy law. Strong communication skills
