The Project Management Office (PMO) at Mount Sinai Medical Center is the internal consulting division under the umbrella of Finance that is responsible for the identification, implementation and monitoring of expense management, resource management and strategic initiatives for the organization.
Focus areas of oversight for the PMO include labor, supplies, service contracts, medical management, as well as various strategic projects that encompass a multitude of subjects.
The Ideal Candidate: Continuously challenges the status quo and provides out of the box solutions to improve existing department processes Has a knack for solving complex data analytical problems Can handle working on multiple projects simultaneously as is comfortable with constantly changing priorities Has a continuous learning mentality Has the ability to format and present complex information/data in an easy to understand way for executives and non-technical healthcare professionals Is very detail oriented and can independently identify discrepancies between two different reports and work to resolve the issue Projects may include: Labor standards and productivity management Surgical supply expense management Accessibility and growth Requirements: Bachelors in Healthcare Science, Industrial Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field Familiarity with healthcare quality, process improvement, and/or labor/supply management Advanced experience with MS Office suite including demonstrated proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, INDEX MATCH, advanced formulas, etc).
Experience with pulling data from MS Access or SQL Server is highly desirable Experience with creating Tableau dashboards (preferred) Process minded with familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma (specifically the DMAIC process).
Experience implementing a Six Sigma project is highly desirable Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders; hold stakeholder accountable for performance metrics Excellent analytical, critical thinking, customer relationship, and communication (written and verbal) skills Responsibilities:
1.
Level of guidance: Supporting the department with creation/enhancement of reports/dashboards and ad-hoc analyses to drive cost-savings initiatives and decision-making.
Conducts on-site observations and summary of findings/recommendations.
Takes the lead on certain projects and can be involved in the decision-making.
Projects are proposed by employee, others are assigned by PMO leadership or proposed by departments.

Data and reports: Able to understand data sources, how the data is captured and how it interacts with other sources.
Creates, edits, modifies reports as needed.

Analytics: Provides support, understands data sources and disparity between the sources.
Proactively identifies issues and works to resolve them.
Utilizes resources available to make analysis quicker

Meeting involvement: Schedule meetings with departments, can have a substantial contribution to most meetings, sometimes runs meetings including senior leadership from start to end.

Communications Skills: Clearly communicates, both verbally and in writing expectations, reports, deliverables, etc., to departments, directors and senior management.

Operational Understanding: Demonstrates an advanced level of understanding for how the business functions; thoroughly evaluates projects for both feasibility and risk.
7.
Projects/Initatives: Subject matter expert in their areas and is able to train in certain topics.
Understands analytics to recommend new initiatives.
Delivers consistent, quantifiable results to the pipeline of initiatives.
Drives initiatives with minimal intervention.
Defines action plans for all initiatives immediately with target dates.
8.
Change Management: Demonstrates ability to understand different perspectives of complex issues, focus on most relevant topics and build consensus /change behaviors where required.

Strategic/Innovative thinking: Identifies innovative ways to minimize non-value added or repetitive tasks to be able to focus on bigger picture
