ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIESACCOUNTABILITIES To assist to Handle and oversee the litigation cases related to direct taxation.Handling Income Tax assessments and appeals (includes filing the returns, following up for refunds and scrutiny assessment)Filing of appeals/ discrepanciesRevision of assessment as per the appellate orderMonitor taxation litigations and cases by representing and clarifying all the issuesWork with the lawyer to bring up-to-date with the happenings and discuss the approach to handle the matterNotify internal business clients of settlement opportunities and potential business implications and obtains settlement authority pursuant to established protocols.Solving all queries on taxation related to Litigation (e.g. double taxation)Establish appropriate litigation budget for each case and review outside counsel billsAttend court required mediations and settlement conferencesEnsuring up to date knowledge of all the laws with respect to direct taxationKEY CHALLENGESKeep oneself updated about various laws and their amendments.
