About Rise Rise is a program that supports promising young people and provides them with opportunities
that allow them to work together to serve others over their lifetimes. The program starts at ages
15–17 and offers benefits including secondary education opportunities, a technology package, a
Rise Residential Summit, college advising, higher education scholarships, additional
convenings, funding, and more.
The Role Reporting to the Executive Director, Rise, the Manager, Learning & Impact will serve as the lead
for developing and delivering online and in person learning experiences designed to: leverage
expertise from the Schmidt entities and the Rhodes Trust Partnership Programmes network;
build communities of practice and foster cross-collaboration; and maximize the impact of nearly
400 Rise Global Winners as they work together to solve humanity's most pressing problems. In
this role, the Manager will work closely with the Director, Support Services and the Manager,
Community Events, as well as consultants, contractors, and vendors.
\n Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and promote a year-round calendar of learning experiences for the Rise Winners, including programming from Support ServicesIn collaboration with the Executive Director, Rise and Rise Global Winners, develop and deliver interactive online and in-person learning experiences, leveraging experts from the Schmidt entities and the Rhodes Trust Partnership Programmes networkSource and mentor Rise Global Winners with relevant expertise to attend online and in person events from the Schmidt entities and the Rhodes Trust Partnership Programmes networks as participants and/or speakersDesign, support, and evaluate communities of practice among Rise Global Winners to increase impactLead the development of a strategy and a toolkit to support Rise Global Winners in planning, promoting, and hosting regional meetups to foster learning, collaboration, and networkingIdentify, launch, leverage, and monitor a suite of online tools and resources intended to connect Rise Global Winners to themselves and others in the extended network and to stimulate new collaborationsDesign systems for capturing evidence of impact stories and partner with the Schmidt and Rhodes Trust Communications teams to determine how best to share results both internally and externallyOther duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience in working with young people and knowledge of safeguarding essentialsDrive to work in high-impact philanthropic venturesCommitment to building robust relationships to further programmatic goalsExperience using event-management platforms and/or project management softwareProficiency in online community platformsExperience building relationships across global culturesDemonstrated teamwork ability and a record of impact in high-intensity, team-based environmentsValues-based, collaborative working style with a demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of ethics and confidentialityStrong written and verbal communication skillsExceptional operational and program management skills Suggested BackgroundHave a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institutionHave experience overseeing in-person or online community and/or events managementHave experience managing teams and managing programsMust be able to work extended hours or work weeks in support of the Rise ResidentialSummit and additional conveningsMust be able to travel within the U.S. and internationally as needed, following company policy and permitting circumstancesPosition is based in the Schmidt New York office at least three days a week, and as needed for meetings
