RESPONSIBILITIES Be a positive safety influence on the facility; review all designs for safe operation.Take an active role in plant safety by way of safe equipment/process design, following safety procedures/policies (i.e.
PSM, LOTO, etc.)
and taking part in safety studies (i.e.
PHAs, JSAs, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
).Manage and Lead the Facilities and Maintenance Departments.Identify and implement efficiency and cost saving projects to achieve corporate environmental goals and streamlined operations.Manage and support construction and new capital projects.Evaluate, facilitate, and implement engineering, continuous improvement and facility projects.Identify, plan, coordinate and implement capital projects for Teterboro location (i.e.
develop capital plan with others input, provide project status updates to Plant Manager, etc.
).Provide technical guidance/assistance to Production, SH&E Manager, Creative, R&D and QC/QA.Review of the assets design (i.e.
plant layout, equipment selection, etc.)
and collaborate with other business areas to ensure it meets business needs applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and better science.Designing and possibly overseeing the acquisition and/or start-up of new equipment as well as provide training.Assist in planning and installation of larger scale projects. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum B.S.
in engineering discipline.10 years engineering experience, at least 5 of which in a plant environment, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry.3 years of Supervisory experience.Experience in Project Management and Industrial Engineering.Knowledge of Process Improvements is a plus.Knowledge of liquid mixing, solids mixing, spray drying, extractions, separations, distillation, heat exchange, reactions, pumps, etc.
