Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Manager of Interconnection on behalf of our client. The Manager of Interconnection will be responsible for overseeing interconnection projects, ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grid. This position requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in power systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of interconnection projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and agreements for interconnection projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the impact of renewable energy projects on the electrical grid, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
Manage the interconnection process, including application submissions, feasibility studies, system impact assessments, and interconnection agreements with utility companies.
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and track project progress against milestones, identifying and addressing any deviations or risks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and requirements.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for interconnection infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for interconnection projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
Conduct project reviews and post-mortems to identify lessons learned, best practices, and areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements as needed.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to interconnection standards and practices, and incorporate relevant insights into project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the power delivery or renewable energy industry.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, grid operations, and interconnection procedures.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical issues and propose practical solutions.
Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
