Anticipated Pay Range: $66,560 - $70,000
Pay Range Information: Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Volunteerism ("Director"), the Manager of Parent & Family Engagement ("Manager") will manage and implement the university's parent & family engagement efforts by connecting families to the university, resources, and each other. The Manager will collaborate with colleagues in the university's schools, colleges, and departments and will oversee the communication, programming, and outreach to parents and families to support them and provide them with a personalized Chapman experience.
Responsibilities: MANAGE PARENT PROGRAM Create content and oversee parent & family engagement communication and marketing efforts through newsletters and emails, social media, the website, and print marketing materials. Organize and execute signature events such as Summer Welcome Receptions, Regional Receptions, Orientation, Homecoming, Parent Spring Summit, and others as determined. Engage in high touch customer service to families via phone, email, and other communication platforms, addressing concerns and escalating as necessary. Provide resources to parents and families through communications and programming such as town halls, information sessions, and published guides. Collaborate with appropriate campus partners to increase engagement opportunities ensuring a strong connection between the partners and the Office of Parent & Family Engagement. Manage and facilitate programs to help parents connect with each other locally and regionally. Represent the Office of Parent & Family Engagement at various University-wide events, moderating and serving on panels, and making presentations about parent engagement. Strategize with the Director to create family engagement opportunities across campus. Collaborate with the Director to establish parent & family programmatic and engagement goals. VOLUNTEER OVERSIGHT Identify and engage constituents (parents, alumni, and community members) who wish to volunteer, establishing ways to incorporate them into the Chapman community in person and virtually. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a successful volunteer pipeline. Together with the Director, manage and oversee volunteer outreach and volunteer recognition. EVENT AND DATA SUPPORT Oversee student employee(s). Manage and track volunteer and engagement data, consistently measuring efficacy of programs through attendance metrics, surveys and other methods of garnering feedback. Collect and update data on parents and volunteers as necessary; utilize the University's CRM. Conduct outreach for specific initiatives or events to various constituents as needed. Manage event planning logistics, including contracts, room scheduling and set up, food services, RSVPs, guest speaker arrangements, parking services, flyers, and event materials, as necessary to execute events. Interface with campus staff (facilities, catering, media services, etc.) to make all pertinent arrangements for events and programming. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a higher education setting, or equally relevant experience. Proven ability to motivate and manage individuals and groups of staff or volunteers Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside of the University. Experience in outreach to potential volunteers of all types, ages and from diverse cultures. Ability to engage, motivate and interact with volunteers, team members, student workers and other campus constituents within and outside the university. Special events planning, coordination and management experience a plus Strong writing and editing skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and grammatically correct business correspondence and other documents Strong organizational and management skills with proven ability in managing constituents, communication plans, special events, travel, and mailings. Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and implement multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise discretion and judgement. Strong ability to evaluate data, assess alternatives and formulate logical and sound decisions and/or recommendations. Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and excellent judgment and maintain impeccable professionalism. Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork. Technical skills to learn and use Chapman's CRM database and other systems. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite applications. Ability to represent the University in a positive light, communicate persuasively and passionately to, and collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituencies. Strong ability to pay attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with Chapman University a plus.
