JOB SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities include team leadership, managing various safety programs, managing reporting, responding to trends, consistency in Guest and Team Member safety procedures across all Universal Orlando rides and attractions, including Volcano Bay. Responsible for executing and documenting regular audits of operational procedures, Team Member procedural knowledge, Team Member training paperwork, safety spot talks, reviewing change requests for consistency and review of incident reports and performs follow ups as needed. Responsible for supervising team of Safety Coaches and also manage the Safety First Team for the Operations division. Uses analytical skills to ensure that the team members are meeting departmental and global standards while maintaining the highest safety standards at all times.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts regular guest safety audits around the resort and addresses observations. Reviews daily incident reports and tracks corrective action to completion. Responds to Guest and Team Member safety trends and ensures proper action is taken. Analyzes and responds to various reports including but not limited to guest comments, downtimes, and incident reports. Fulfills legal requests for discovery information required and schedules meetings when necessary. Stays current with ASTM safety standards and UPR standards and procedures, as well as consistency in safety policies and procedures in new attraction development throughout the Universal Orlando Resort. Ensures the safety of guests by reviewing and revising safety practices and procedures and documents and responds to potentially unsafe conditions.
Manages team of Attractions Safety Coaches who perform daily audits of operational procedure compliance, including training, coaching, and mentoring. Coaches and uses counseling forms to document and maintain safe team member actions in accordance with UO policy. Manages the actions and responsibilities of members serving on the Safety First Team. Assists with the creation of quarterly presentations.
Manages the CPI (Compliance Process Improvement) audit program which includes the continuous review and partnership with venue leadership to close findings.
Manages the quarterly Attractions Operations Safety Recognition Program. Participates with assigned Safety Coach in yearly Attractions Operations Evacuation Drills for all dry park attractions. Highly engaged in Production Shoots that involve operating attractions to ensure safety guidelines are being followed. Partners with Talent Development to ensure proper safety content is presented in OJT training programs.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED is required.
Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of supervisory experience required
; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
AIMS certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Working knowledge of ASTM F24 standards preferred.
