IOWN Renewable Energy, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Origination Strategy to leverage fresh insights and research with an environmental and public policy focus to provide in-depth analysis that informs our organizational strategies! This role will involve a blend of regulatory and policy research, interconnection and market intelligence analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and strategic planning, taking our understanding beyond mere information to uncover new development opportunities and prioritize development, land acquisition, interconnection queue application, and community outreach efforts.
The candidate will work for a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in San Diego which seeks an innovative, focused, and motivated leader to start a team of professionals doing commercial modeling of projects and deal structures.
Remote candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates who live in or can relocate to San Diego area, CA.
Seniority level will be based on candidate experience.

Requirements
Three or more years of experience in strategic research, analysis and planning, business development, or a related field within the energy industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
A deep understanding of the energy industry and the regulatory environment is a plus.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis.
Ownership of workflows to meet deadlines and budgets.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of regulatory and policy landscapes related to our industries of interest, identifying potential opportunities and challenges for our organization.
Determine target locations for land outreach and regions where the company should concentrate its land campaign efforts based on market research and infrastructure assessment.
Work closely with the land acquisition team to prioritize land acquisition opportunities based on strategic goals and financial viability.
Collaborate with the financial analysis and modeling team to develop and maintain financial models that support decision-making, investment analysis, and forecasting. Explore potential growth areas to support business development goals.
Perform interconnection and intelligence analysis, connecting dots between various market players, technologies, and trends to provide strategic insights that contribute to greenfield development efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into our overall business strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission and objectives.
Engage in forward-thinking research that goes beyond surface-level information, identifying untapped areas for growth and innovation within our industries.
Develop frameworks and methodologies to assess the feasibility and potential impact of different strategies, helping to guide resource allocation and decision-making.
Work closely with communities and stakeholders to prioritize outreach efforts, ensuring our strategies align with their needs and values.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders in a clear and confident manner.
Stay current with industry trends, market shifts, and policy changes, incorporating this knowledge into ongoing analysis and strategy refinement.
Research relevant market issues and/or policies to support project development activities. Prepare summary updates or analyses as needed on potential impacts to projects.
Provide administrative support with meeting organization and summaries.
Maintain and organize market data library.
