MANAGER REPUTATION & STRATEGIC RISK OVERSIGHTWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?This position, in the Second Line of Defense (2LOD), will be responsible for supporting the development and operation of City National Bank's (CNB's) Reputation and Strategic Risk Oversight programs. The position supports the implementation of the Bank's risk objectives, to include developing, leading, and managing a number of risk programs such as Reputation Risk, and Strategic Risk, to include the coordination of the 2LOD risk oversight of the Bank's Strategic Planning processes. The role will require extensive knowledge in these two risk categories as it would extend to the governance of these categories as well (ownership, management, and maintenance of the Reputation Risk, and Strategic Risk Policies, etc.). The role will require managerial responsibilities as the team continues to expand.What you will doEstablish the Bank's Reputation Risk program in accordance with regulatory requirementsDevelop, own, lead, and expand the Bank's Strategic Risk program in accordance with regulatory requirementsDevelop the governance programs and structure for any additional in-scope covered risks, as neededDevelop and own the policies and governance processes specific to Reputation, and Strategic Risk management programs, as well as any additional in-scope covered risks as they evolveDevelop training and partner with 1LOD teams to support the implementation of Reputation and Strategic Risk programs across CNBDevelop, monitor, maintain, and deliver recurring analytical reports with key risk metrics across these risk disciplines (Reputation, Strategic), and, where applicable, design new reporting solutions and produce relevant dashboardsCollaborate with 1LOD to establish metrics to monitor and report on Strategic and Reputational risk exposureStay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks that could impact the organization's reputationDevelop and conduct training and awareness programs for employees on strategic and reputational risk management best practices and protocolsPartner with senior management and the risk management team to ensure alignment of strategic and reputation risk management efforts with overall risk management strategies to drive interoperabilityParticipate in cross-functional risk committees and working groups to enhance risk governance and promote a culture of risk awarenessMonitor, address, and report all in-scope audit, regulatory, and self-identified issues and findings specific to the risk categoriesSupport horizontal regulatory programs in scope for the risk management organizationAs a people manager, provide effective oversight and direction while delegating responsibilities, where applicableMust-Have*Bachelor's Degree or equivalentMaster's DegreeMinimum 15 years combined experience in risk management / bankingMinimum 6 years of experience in a corporate settingMinimum 3 years of experience with MS OfficeSkills and KnowledgeProven managerial experienceAbility to work locally in the downtown Los Angeles office, or ability to travel regularly, is requiredProven experience working in and leading risk management functions at financial institutions (e.g. Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance Risk, Enterprise Risk, etc.), preferably larger institutions subject to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's (OCC) requirements for Heightened StandardsDemonstrated knowledge of and background in Reputation Risk and Reputation Risk governanceDemonstrated knowledge of and background in Strategic Risk and Strategic Risk functionsDemonstrated knowledge of risk mitigation and internal controlsDemonstrated knowledge and experience building and administering risk assessments and risk assessment programs across corporationsProven experience in risk governance and risk governance programsUnderstand and manage 2LOD business processes and develop risk taxonomies for in-scope covered risk and controlsWorking knowledge of bank or finance products preferredProven ability to manage people and effectively lead teams in a corporate setting in the pursuit of business goalsCompensationStarting base salary: $157,943 - $293,299 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
