This Opportunity:
The Manager, Strategic Growth will be a member of the America's Strategic Growth Team supporting the growth strategy across the business and in all technical areas, with a primary focus on proposal management. The Manager helps to take an opportunity through the pipeline from identification to submission. They focus on overall planning, writing select proposal/pre-proposal pieces, and coordinating the internal team and partner inputs for bid efforts and assists in broader bid preparation and production aspects.
Location and Compensation:
The position is based in Palladium's Washington D.C. office. For our prospective employees in the United States, please note that the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $80,000 - $110,000, and successful candidates may also be eligible for additional, variable incentive compensation dependent on the role. For part-time employees, the salary will be prorated based on the actual number of hours worked.

Reporting and Supervision:
Reports to a Director on the Strategic Growth team
Supervises junior staff
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination
Works closely with capture managers to successfully manage proposal efforts and resources, including timeline and action planning, identification of needed proposal team members, internal/external meeting support, efficient communications, and organization of proposal component folders/files.
Has lead responsibility for coordinating select proposals (including preparing tailored calendars, checklists, instructions, templates, and outlines), and monitoring progress.
Ensures alignment with and adherence to business development proposal outputs, tools, and processes on the part of proposal teams.
With support and tools from Proposal Quality & Process Excellence team, performs analysis of RFP/A requirements and continually works to promote and ensure compliance.
Guides proposal team through necessary corporate-level reviews and decisions, adhering to established policies and protocols.
Ensures vital flow of communication and task management between practice areas, capture manager, departments, partners, and other parties involved in the proposal process.
Facilitates evolution and documentation of proposal strategy, such as competitive analysis, developing win themes and technical approach, visioning needed personnel, and selecting teaming partners.
Leads final technical and cost proposal production and submission, and coordinates post-submission debriefs.
In close coordination with the Pricing and Value Analytics and Contracts/Operations Departments, helps support cost/business proposal development as appropriate.
Writing / Editing
Writes expressions of interest, corporate capability statements, sections of technical responses, personnel and management sections, past performance references, biographical sketches, and other proposal components.
Edits and coordinates technical proposal sections as they develop (including managing file traffic/turnaround time, and close liaison with technical staff).
Reviews and edits submissions from partners, ensuring their inputs meet specified requirements and expected level of quality.
Willingness to grow proposal writing skillset to eventually serve as a lead technical writer, participate on color teams, and provide compliance reviews.
Other Key Job Aspects
Maintains timely data on assigned opportunity pipeline.
Plays an active role on the Market Trends & Analytics team, focused on carrying out business intelligence research to help position company/guide strategic planning; Researches and analyzes funding trends among key donors/clients.
Supports liaison with and efforts to build positive relationships with other international development organizations and a range of international donors.
Develops depth of understanding of practice area staff and projects and helps facilitate proactive and responsive business development support.
Plays a key role in capture activities including research, competitive analysis, positioning activities, and partnering discussions.
Attends industry events and conferences.
Essential Criteria:
Experience in proposal development, technical writing, drafting personnel sections, management plans and other proposal sections.
Experience with proposal capture.
Experience with USAID.
Experience managing and mentoring teams in the proposal process.
Proven ability to successfully manage the full proposal development process.
Demonstrated organizational and writing skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to work under tight deadlines, with multiple/simultaneous bid efforts, and across time-zone challenges.
Desirable Criteria:
Ability to work in Spanish and/or French preferred.
Experience living and/or working abroad preferred.
