Job Title: Manager, Systems Engineering Job Code: 17158 Job Location: Salt Lake City, UT Job Schedule: 9/80, every other Friday off L3Harris Broadband Communications Sector (BCS), is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of Systems Engineers that support the development, sustainment, and business pursuit activities associated with a variety of programs and technologies in the Protected SATCOM group. Specifically, this Manager will lead the teams that support Protected Tactical Waveform programs and pursuits as well as Space Development Agency programs. This includes Space, airborne and ground hardware, and software, procurement, deployment, upgrades, and field support. The candidate will also be assigned to various program leadership roles. This Systems Engineering Manager will have direct interface with the customers and industry partners associated with these programs. With those interactions, this individual will have direct influence in the direction the group and programs take. The Protected SATCOM System Engineer Manager is responsible for directing the life-cycle support of our SATCOM systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. This includes proposal support, requirements analysis/management, task planning (using EVMS, IMS, MPM, and Management Plans/SEMPs), technical project management assistance (including reviews, reporting, and other documentation), design synthesis (in a multi-functional engineering environment), technical documentation (including generating statements of work and specifications), design oversight, build support, test support, repair support, subcontractor control, risk management, and in-house technical support during the operational life-cycle of the system. Because this is in support of the classified business area, a Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred) is required. Job Responsibilities: Personnel management and building cohesive/collaborative teams. Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and retain engineering talent. Understanding of business development processes/lifecycle with an emphasis on capture and proposal planning and proposal development. Planning and organization skills to support large programs. High level understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Understanding of all aspects of DoD development and program lifecycle: Design, Implementation, Verification, Production and Sustainment. Qualitative and quantitative risk analysis and management skills. In depth understanding of advanced communication systems in land, air, and SATCOM applications. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to travel on occasion. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience in project/systems engineering, including managing a team, requirements analysis, development of architecture and technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, etc.
