The Consulting group's core focus is to provide data center strategy analysis with the expertise to address the client's forward mission goals inclusive of their IT and Network architecture, application portfolios, data center sourcing needs, topology, reliability, and associated financial analysis for decision support requirements.

Summary of Job Role and Responsibilities The ideal Senior team member will provide leadership in:
Acquiring new clients: A critical focus of this position is to leverage the candidate's client contacts and industry knowledge to develop new opportunities and expand YOY growth of the Consulting group.
The candidate will support client business development targeted at the Consulting group's offerings directly, or in concert with other EYP/Ramboll opportunities, as part of an overall solution.
It is important to provide leadership in these efforts.
The candidate needs strong interview capabilities to understand the client's requirements, rapidly establish the Consulting group's knowledge and skills in the context of the client's needs and sketch out high-level potential study methodologies to achieve the goals discussed.
This frequently occurs during a single meeting, so creative agility is required.
The candidate will need to craft standard and customized solutions into deliverable program offerings (Statements of Work) using the group's resources, tools, greater Ramboll capabilities, and external partners as needed.
This will include pricing that meets the group's financial goals.
Managing and participating in the delivery of major projects: The candidate is expected to act as the client partner and project executive for all projects they develop.
This will position the candidate to manage the project, its quality, and the client as a portfolio over time.
The candidate will participate in delivery and will need to learn the use of the group's analytic tools and support that need as required.
The candidate will also manage the project to the forecast financial measures.
Development of new service offerings: Expansion of YOY revenue is achieved not only through account growth but through growth in services offered.
The candidate is expected to assist in the refinement of the group's analytic tools.
Develop new ways to apply tools, the considerable analytic data collected via project delivery, and market knowledge, in innovative ways.
Leverage their industry knowledge and develop new service offerings that meet the changing landscape of the data center market.
Specific Skills and Knowledge The Senior Data Center Consultant will demonstrate the following required abilities:
Data Center Knowledge: 15 years data center strategy development experience including knowledge of data center operations and management in enterprise, education, and small to medium business.
Familiarity with typical verticals such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, automotive, high tech, financial services, etc.
Significant knowledge of, and experience in, the colocation industry, its major players, and industry trends.
Knowledge of use cases in the context of developing a data center sourcing strategy and the associated economics.
Knowledge of colocation MEP design and its suitability to client requirements and space layout.
Experience in creating and managing a colocation services Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
Understand the use of private or public cloud alternatives in forming a data center strategy as it relates to a client's application portfolio, growth, and associated economics.
Understand the economics and MEP characteristics of data center construction and remediation.
Ability to understand and integrate EYP/Ramboll resources as part of a client solution.
Ability to assist and provide senior leadership (Trusted Advisor) to the client in development and documentation of their requirements and decisions.
Presentation and Writing Skills: The candidate will need to communicate professionally, effectively, and persuasively in verbal and written form to client CIO/CFO/COO's and other senior positions.
In addition to client-focused work, the candidate is expected to participate as an industry expert in symposiums, professional journals, and webinars.
Financial Analysis skills: The candidate will need to understand basic financial analysis techniques and accounting principles such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies, Cash Flow models, and CAPEX and OPEX budgeting.
The candidate will manage financial analysis results to allow the client to understand the financial impact, over time, of potential solutions.
IT Architecture Familiarity: Knowledge of IT hardware including servers (enterprise and high performance), network, and storage devices.
Team members generally work from their home office and travel when required.
Travel can average 25%-50%, but there might be times when sustained travel over short periods of time are required, particularly when supporting our global projects.
BA/BS from an accredited College/University as a minimum.
Engineering or Computer Science degree is a plus.
Advanced capabilities – It is desirable that the successful candidate have one or more of the following advanced requirements:
Advanced IT, network, and disaster recovery/business continuity architecture knowledge.
Knowledge of the High-Performance Computing environment as it relates to data center design in owned or colocation facilities.
Data Center floor design and layout concepts with technology integration.
Familiarity with data center redundancy and reliability.
Use of advanced features in Excel.
