This leadership role is pivotal in the global legal department, acting as a strategic partner to the Vice President of Litigation and requiring strong legal skills, judgment, and acumen.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a significant and dynamic docket of litigation and arbitration, providing legal guidance on managed care contracting and dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The role also involves frequent communication and interaction with business and operational leaders and the creation and maintenance of good working relationships with outside counsel.
Applicants for the Managing Counsel position must have a Juris Doctorate (JD) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation, with at least 5 years in a management role.
A background in the healthcare or managed care industry is essential, as is experience in a law firm.
The role requires a licensed lawyer with a proven track record in leading and managing a team, as well as the ability to handle complex legal matters with creativity and adaptability.
