Position: Machinist (Manual Lathes/Mills/Drill Presses) Location: Ashland, VA Duration: 3-Month Contract (Potential for Permanent Role) Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Mon-Fri; 10-hour days, with Saturdays as needed) Pay: Up to $27.00/hour (Based on Experience) About the Role: Qualdoc is seeking a skilled Precision Machinist with expertise in operating manual lathes, mills, and drill presses to manufacture components for overhead cranes. You'll work with high tolerances in a heavy industrial environment, ensuring precision and quality with every part you produce. \n What You'll Do:Machining Mastery: Interpret complex machining drawings to operate manual lathes, mills, and drill presses, including boring mills, while maintaining tight tolerances within .0005".Precision & Safety: Use precision measuring tools to ensure accurate machining, all while adhering to safety protocols in a demanding industrial environment.Collaborate & Troubleshoot: Work closely with engineers and team members to troubleshoot issues and communicate clearly.Physical Requirements: Safely lift up to 50 pounds and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
