Summary:
This Manufacturing Engineer II will report directly to our Client's Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work out of their Pottsville, PA location. The Mfg Eng II will be part of our Client's engineering team and work closely with the Lead Advanced Mfg Eng supporting and driving the critical capital electrical and automation projects in their Advanced Materials films manufacturing business. This engineer will work to execute capital projects, drive manufacturing process improvements, controls optimization, and technology upgrades to complete key electrical, automation projects and support manufacturing operations. The Mfg Eng II will work with maintenance, operations and other teams/stakeholders to ensure all safety, quality, production and engineering targets are met.
Key Responsibilities: Engage with vendors and technology suppliers to evaluate and select technology applicable to the manufacturing processes as needed The successful candidate can support new and existing processes by implementing innovative solutions using the systems and hardware listed below: Industrial networking – Ethernet IP, Set up and maintain LANs Industrial PC's - hardware, operating systems, peripherals HMI's – Intouch, FactoryTalk View PLC's – Rockwell Logix family Motor Control – full voltage, VFDs (Power Flex, Parker) Safety Systems - Safety PLCs, Relays, Scanners, Light Curtains, Mats Instrumentation – Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level, Weight, Speed Electrical Power – distribution, protective devices, power supplies, 480v,120v,24v In addition to fluency with the system and hardware above the ideal candidate will also be skilled with the systems and hardware listed below: Data Historians / OE Dashboards (NWA) Machine Vision – continuous web inspection / defect inspection Nuclear Gauging and Control PLC's – Client Series 90 and Client RXi Work closely with maintenance and other departments to develop methodologies and processes that assure manufacturing reliability. Identify and validate risks and work with team to mitigate them. Assures processes are optimized (waste eliminated) prior to automating Mentor, coach, and share knowledge with maintenance electricians Assist the maintenance department with trouble shooting process and equipment issues using those opportunities to train technicians. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field Experience with implementing Automated solutions Experience programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs Experience laying out and commissioning variable frequency drive systems Experience designing and commissioning 480VAC power distribution systems Experience scoping and managing complex power distribution and instrumentation projects Project Engineering/Management experience Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Engineering or other related technical field Experience managing complex engineering projects Proven ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical people Willingness to learn new technologies Experience with implementation of automated solutions/systems. Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work Experience with hardware and software design and development on Automation projects Proficient project management skills: Experience working with customer to develop project goals and basis for design Experience preparing specifications and standards Experience with equipment selection and procurement Experience creating bid packages and evaluating proposals, contract awarding Experience preparing detailed installation plans (drawings, schedules, BOMs, work lists) Experience managing sitework during installation and commissioning project phases Experience applying Cause Identification/FMEA Six Sigma / DFSS understanding with Greenbelt certification a plus Lean Manufacturing skills About On-Board Engineering Corp:
