JOB PURPOSE: The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world! In addition, we are committed to vertical integration through our machining capabilities. With over 800 employees at the campus, we are looking for someone who can provide day-to-day technical expertise across machining operations by leveraging processes knowledge, implementing tooling development ideas, and continuous improvements to operational safety, quality, efficiency, and cost management.
JOB DUTIES: The role will primarily focus as a Manufacturing Engineer for processes at the Mapleton Machining Operations, which includes:
Creation of Standard Work, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, Safe Job Procedures, and SFMEA's. Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns. Works with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects to ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products. Design, develop and implement the integration of manufacturing systems including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation, and systems application. Provides manufacturing technical support in process control and internal certification. Concept complex or intricate jigs and fixtures. Initiate machine cutting programs and integration with robotic cell applications. Collaboration with Facilities/Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and the Foundry. Basic Qualifications: This position requires a 2-year degree and 6 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or 10+ years of appropriate experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent oral and written communications skills. Top Candidates Will Have: Manufacturing / Machine process experience related to manufacturing of cast materials, induction hardening processes, quality gaging, and process control documentation. Programing experience in single and cell related machining lines. Strong knowledge of engineering and / or manufacturing standards and practices.
