Manufacturing Engineer

ITS has a client in the Defiance, OH area seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a direct hire position with full benefits including 401k. 
Responsibilities Plans, designs, coordinates and improves manufacturing processes in plant by performing following duties; Designs, develops, implements and enhances manufacturing and assembly processes that meet safety, quality and productivity continuous improvement expectations. Develops part routers and in-process prints for various manufacturing operations. Creates and revises Engineering Process documentation detailing tooling, and setup requirements. Implements corrective actions proactively and reactively to prevent nonconforming product. Recommends and designs improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters. Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding purchase of new or modernization of existing production and processing equipment. Implements and tracks cost savings such as tool life improvements, cycle time and setup reductions, etc. Designs or specifies tooling and other MRO products used in manufacturing. Designs fixture and machine components for replacement and or improvement. Supports onsite Tool Room or outside vendors in the manufacture of tooling and fixturing. Develops prototype parts and processes. Supports the quoting process of new products. Training and development of staff as required. Works with Maintenance and Setup to trouble shoot machine and tooling issues. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical. Must have experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a machine shop environment with steel machining, heat treat, grinding, honing, high volume part conveyance. CAD Software Solid Edge or Solid Works are preferred.
