Manufacturing Engineer

Position: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Hybrid - North Reading, MA (4 days a week onsite) Travel: Potential international travel required once a quarter Rate: $30-40/hr based on experience. Position Description: You will be responsible for NPI and scalability to transition a wide range of products from design to production.
You will work cross-functionally to develop suppliers, manage product lifecycle changes, lead product quality improvement projects, and drive to technical root cause in supplier quality activities.

Experience in manufacturing and supplier quality engineering and is capable of making wide-ranging business decisions on behalf of the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Manage and guide electromechanical suppliers for ramp-up and scalability.
Supplier quality engineering support for scalability Guide best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T.
Launch tooling with accelerated schedules and assess project risk for the electromechanical supplier base.
Review external production processes, identify risks and mitigate them.
Qualify production processes based on dimensional data, control plans, PFMEAs.
Drive internal and external FMEA reviews.
Solve technical problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.
Manage electromechanical supplier quality problems when necessary; drive containment and root cause activities.
Propose design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability.
Evaluate and approve product electrical Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs).
Evaluate production, supplier, and field failures for root cause analysis and resolution.
Required Skills: 2-3 yrs.
associate applicable industry experience within process/manufacturing vertical at the desired scale along with a technical degree Experience with SolidWorks-CAD.
Utilizing a PLM tool (Agile) & Visio exp or similar diagramming and process applications Experience working with and knowledge of core concepts/industry use of PCBAs and electromechanical components (cameras, lenses, scanners etc.)
Demonstrate exp.
managing product lifecycle & partnering with third-party manufacturers for establishing and identifying best practices, quality control (root cause analysis), scalability and tolerances (GD&T) Experience with bill of materials (BOM)- engineering change orders (ECO, Ability to travel domestically & internationally (Mexico) Desired Skills: PCB design & standards (Gerber) Hands on engineering experience Quality tooling (fault analysis, root cause analysis)
