Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with welding emphasis or equivalent relevant work experience in Welding Engineering. CWI or CWE certification 25% travel required, mostly domestic. Certification in International welding standards (beneficial but not required). Essential duties/responsibilities: Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the welding certification program across multiple factory locations. Provide innovative weld solutions to solve engineering challenges in production, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Integrate new weld equipment and modify existing equipment to enhance production capabilities and efficiency. Lead and coordinate medium to large-scale projects. Manage project budgets and expenses while implementing new technologies. Identify and engage with contractors and suppliers to implement new technologies and cost-effective solutions. Evaluate and optimize welding processes for new and existing products to achieve optimal cost and quality standards. Review customer requested procedures and welding specifications Conduct weld failure reviews and determine corrective action to reduce failure rate Develop cost-saving ideas and lead projects aimed at reducing operational expenses. Support continuous improvement projects across all weld production areas.
