Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with expertise in manufacturing processes, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and an engineering background to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, project management experience, and a deep understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing practices. Responsibilities:
Lead and manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget objectives. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables. Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric requirements. Coordinate project activities, including design reviews, prototype development, testing, and production ramp-up, to meet project milestones and deadlines. Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing proactive measures to minimize impact on project outcomes. Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders and management on key metrics, milestones, and deliverables. Manage project budgets, resource allocations, and procurement activities, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to financial targets. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, motivating and empowering team members to achieve project objectives and exceed customer expectations. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in a timely manner. Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and best practices to be applied to future projects. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree or project management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on manufacturing processes and engineering projects. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their application in engineering design and manufacturing. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion, with demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management tools and software and ERP systems preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions to project challenges. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize competing demands, and adapt to changing requirements and priorities. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
