Manufacturing Support Ii - Part Time

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is designed to work around your technical school schedule while you transition from part time to fulltime upon graduation.
We are seeking students in the technical trades (ie welding / machining/ maintenance).
Our production employees all work together to build products used in the toughest scales in the industry.
The individual selected for this position will move around as needed to support manufacturing operations on a part time basis.
This individual must demonstrate productive work habits while meeting our quality requirements, productivity standards and safe work practices.
Candidates must be attending a vocational college pursuing a certificate in welding or machine tool. Candidates that maintain a minimum of 20 hours per week will be eligible to participate in our tuition reimbursement program upon successfully receiving their certificate and acquiring full time employment with RLWS.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR TASKS: Move throughout the various manufacturing areas providing support where needed.Must possess adequate math and reading skills.Will demonstrate excellent communication skills.Safely operate hand tools or machines used in various manufacturing areas.Work in a manner in which quality and safety while performing work are top priorities.Keeps work area organized and as clean as possible while working and clean up all tooling, machinery and work area when finished with each job.Moves parts to the next operation or storage area using electric crane or forklift.Notifies direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is not working properly.Maintain accurate records of time and quantities, etc.
Must notify supervisor if incorrect time or quantity in folders.Identify opportunities/solutions to reduce or eliminate waste in areas you work in. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Other job functions as assigned.Assist in shop clean-up PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
