Our client is seeking an experienced Pre-Production Supervisor with hands-on expertise in electromechanical assembly and a background in team supervision or leadership.
This role will involve overseeing tasks related to pilot production schedules and effectively managing labor and materials to meet production targets.
The ideal candidate will champion quality, training, and safety standards, ensuring top-notch performance from Engineering Technicians and E/M Assemblers.
Job Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of Engineering Technicians and Electromechanical Assemblers, ensuring alignment with our client's values and mission.Provide clear leadership and training through consistent communication and actions.Organize, assign, and oversee tasks to meet production deadlines.Ensure projects meet customer specifications and achieve quality objectives.Collaborate with Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve any design issues.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards.Offer regular feedback and support to team members, fostering continuous improvement.Participate in process improvement activities, schedule reviews, and customer requirement evaluations.Allocate and level-load workforce to meet key project milestones and delivery deadlines.Partner with Management to improve on-time delivery metrics and streamline project processes.Work closely with Engineering and clients to understand and implement new and existing project requirements, ensuring that the team is aligned and processes are well-documented.Identify potential risks and challenges to project schedules and collaborate with Management to develop recovery plans.Assist in developing and managing outsourcing processes and coordinating schedules with external partners.Collaborate with the Pilot Production Manager and Technical Project Lead to meet critical deadlines.Help train and onboard new Engineering Technicians, creating pathways for growth and development.Communicate updates regarding project schedules, tasks, and instructions to the team.Conduct daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress, goals, and workload distribution.
Track task completion and progress using Jira.Support the Pilot Production Manager in gathering and analyzing team performance metrics.Provide additional assistance to the Pilot Production Manager as needed. Qualifications: Strong electrical/mechanical background with at least 5 years of experience in E/M manufacturing.Supervisory or team leadership experience.High school diploma required; Associate's Degree or trade school equivalent preferred.Strong organizational and motivational skills.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Epicor 10 preferred).Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a production team. Working Environment: Approximately 90% of the work is performed in a precision industrial production area, with the remaining time spent in office and warehouse settings. Physical Requirements: Regular interaction with team members and technology while standing or sitting.Must be able to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
