The Art Director is responsible for creative execution of tactics, with a heavy emphasis on design and layout for print and digital.
Beyond creating visually compelling work, the Jr. Art Director must think critically to produce thoughtful and functional materials.
Day-to-day management of multiple work streams across a variety of brands simultaneously, with an eye toward quality, accuracy, and deadlines, is critical to success in this position.
Creative deliverables generally relate to materials regarding pharmaceutical market access, pricing, reimbursement, business development, and other communications challenges.
Much of the material produced is informational/transactional in nature and closely follows existing client and brand style guidelines; however, some opportunities will require more thoughtful and in-depth design.
The Art Director will work with a small creative team, both under the direction of an Art Director/Supervisor and consultants, as well as independently with minimal oversight.
Communication, collaboration, flexibility, and positive working relationships are key.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop effective approaches to requested creative deliverables and execute to completion, including: creative design and layout, informational graphics and layout, art file preparation, image search and manipulation, icon and logo design, web and email design, and print file preparation.Provide creative expertise and anticipate/resolve issues that arise.Present work to team members and clients as needed.Prioritize and manage workload, meeting projected deadlines.Learn/maintain a minimum understanding of terminology, requirements, and processes specific to the pharmaceutical market access space.Attend internal and client meetings remotely and occasionally onsite if required.Requirements and ExperienceProven working experience as an Art Director, demonstrable with a strong portfolio.Expertise with print and digital layout, infographic design, logo design, web design, print production, and image selection/editing.Experience working in the pharmaceutical, medical device industries, or healthcare industries is a plus.Advanced expertise in Adobe InDesign; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; competency in Adobe XD and Microsoft PowerPoint; basic competency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, and Excel.HTML web/email development skills are a plus.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills.Must enjoy working in a demanding environment as a key member of a dynamic, team-based organization.BS/BA four-year degree.
