Market Strategy Manager

Details of the offer

About Us Leap's mission is to combat climate change by enabling a reliable electric grid that runs on clean energy. The electric grid is transforming from dirty (but predictable) fossil fuels to clean (but less predictable) renewable energy. To do so, the grid needs more flexible demand and supply to help maintain stability and reliability.

Leap plays a crucial role in opening up wholesale energy markets to all distributed energy resources, enabling our partners to get paid for providing flexibility to the grid.

We are looking for a Market Revenue Manager to join our team!

Leap is a privately-held tech company with funding from top VCs and well-known energy entrepreneurs. Our core operations are in the San Francisco Bay Area and Utrecht (NL), but we are a distributed workplace with teammates based in Atlanta, Boston, Boulder, Chicago, Austin, and New York City.

Who are we looking for? Someone who… Values diverse, inclusive teams and creating an environment where people of all identities, experiences, and backgrounds can thrive. Embraces an environment where you'll be exposed to a variety of companies, business challenges, and tools/software. Thrives or would thrive in a remote-first, distributed work environment. Appreciates thinking about the "why" in addition to the "how." Here's what we hope you bring: 3-5 years of experience in wholesale energy markets, energy economics, energy trading, or energy management. Familiarity with recent trends in Demand Response and Distributed Energy Resources and programs. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, data, and financial modeling skills. Love for optimizing market strategies, continuously improving operations, and streamlining complex processes. Enjoy working collaboratively in a team with a diverse group of talented individuals while also being capable of working independently. Hands-on with a desire to take ownership of complex work processes. Hold an advanced degree in business/finance, energy economics, energy engineering, or a related field. Experience is a plus, but willingness to learn and innovate is a must. In this role you will: Develop and implement strategies and processes required for participation in the ISO-NE and other wholesale electricity markets, as well as state and utility-run programs such as MA Clean Peak Standard and Connected Solutions. Build and manage financial revenue models for your respective markets/programs; prepare monthly accruals, forecasts, and reconciliations to actuals; and coordinate on monthly partner payment activities. Engage with external stakeholders such as state regulators, program administrators, and Leap's customers. Develop short and mid-term market strategies that help Leap achieve growth in its customer base and revenue in your respective markets/programs. Drive cross-functional coordination with Leap's other internal teams to achieve Leap's growth and revenue targets in your respective markets and as a company as a whole. Don't meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

What's it like to work at Leap? Product: We are a tech company that loves technical challenges and builds things we are proud of. Purpose: We aim to make a difference and help the world move towards a more resilient grid run on renewable energy. Fun: We work hard, but also enjoy our time at work and outside of work. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

What to expect from the screening process: Intro Chat: Speak to a Recruiter about your background and interests. Behavior Interview: Chat with your potential future Manager via Zoom. Technical Interview: Chat with your potential future co-workers via Zoom. Founder Interview: Chat with your potential future C-level executive via Zoom. Background check: We'll ask to speak with two to three people who can speak to your work. Note that our clients are mostly US-based, and so we look for the ability to communicate with clarity in English, verbally and in writing.

Compensation & Benefits We use a compensation calculator to keep the ranges as equitable as possible. The range for a candidate in the Greater Boston area is $130,000 - $144,000.

100% Remote work with flexible schedule. Healthcare + dental + vision coverage for you (and partner or family). 401(k). Life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance. Paid parental leave. Employee Assistance Program. Unlimited paid time off, holidays (3 weeks minimum/year are encouraged).
