The Marketing and Business Development (M+BD) Manager for the San Francisco region will get it done by working closely with relevant Chair/s, practice/region group members, marketing and communications team members, and other stakeholders. M+BD Managers play a lead role in the research, development, planning and execution of a cohesive and integrated strategy for growth reporting on a weekly basis to the region's leaders delivering sound recommendations.
Under your guidance, the studio will increase its profile, entrench itself in the community, expand its network of potential clients and collaborators, identify networking opportunities, tell amazing stories and win strategically aligned work. You will be responsible for understanding the local market needs and changing the conversation about architecture, engineering and design helping us lead the local discussion that's aligned to our strategic plan.
You will lead a local team and be the go-to manager for global shared services team members that sit in your studio. You will be responsible for not only spreading the regional messages, but the practice-wide DIALOG messages keeping area teammates up to date.
In addition to the San Francisco regional responsibilities, a M+BD Manager's portfolio may also include practice group(s) and/or discipline/s to support M+BD Managers are passionate about their specific area/s and actively involved with clients, their industry, and other DIALOG stakeholders.

How you'll make a difference:Strategic Planning and Execution: Be the regional expert, researching and understanding San Francisco's regional portfolio and opportunities and sharing them with practice groups and other MarCom team members.Assist partners in developing and implementing an annual marketing and business development strategy aligned with DIALOG's growth goals and regional objectives including annual budget development and sales revenue targets.Collaborate with partners to ensure clear, consistent messaging, and prioritize key market sectors and geographic areas of focus.Pursuit Leadership: Lead key RFQ/RFP pursuits, ensuring the team's efforts align with DIALOG's strategic objectives and market positioning.Generate RFQ/RFP responses including content writing, graphic design, and presentation materials.Lead regional go – no-go decision-making.Lead Management and Client Relationship Management: Develop and manage the lead pipeline by identifying and evaluating key opportunities, leveraging CRM data, and bringing forward the right opportunities for collaboration.Relationship Building and Networking: Act as DIALOG's ambassador within the San Francisco A/E community, attending industry events and building relationships with potential clients and collaborators.Expand and maintain a network of partners, industry peers, and community leaders to enhance DIALOG's regional presence.Team Leadership: Serve as a liaison between local and practice-wide teams to align efforts and maintain consistent messaging across regions.Coach and manage other marketing team members (where applicable), ensuring the consistent application of DIALOG's marketing and business development strategies.Collaborate with functional leads (People & Culture, Technology, Finance, and Operations etc.) to support internal M+BD initiatives.Work with teams to prioritize and action award applications, project photography, conference participation, sponsorships, donations and other stakeholder and client engagement initiatives.Participate in co-lead, coordinate and/or project manage key firm-hosted events.Who you are:You bring a strong business acumen with a track record of success in marketing and BD roles within the A/E industry.You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects and deadlines, and are adept at leading a team to achieve results.You are creative, strategic, and comfortable working with senior leadership to influence and guide business decisions.Have your finger on the pulse of current global events and local happenings, possessing the skills to identify and leverage hot opportunities to pull DIALOG to the forefront of design thinking and thought leadership discussions.Have an established network in the region with a track record of generating opportunities for design-led architecture firms.Will quickly learn DIALOG's portfolio of work, practice areas, and capabilities.Skills and Qualifications:University degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent.10+ years' experience progressive business experience including 2+ years managing others.6+ years of A/E industry experience in similar role.Maintain and expand relationships with partner firms and other industry groups related to marketing and BD (e.g. attend events, connect with local SMPS members)Advanced proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite specifically InDesign, and CRM software.Experience leading, developing and executing strategic marketing plans in times of change that get results.Advanced experience in design and layout of proposal materials and best practices for brand development and application.Excellent storytelling skills.$90,000 - $150,000 a year
