POSITION SUMMARY The Massage Therapist, working as part of the Health and Wellbeing team, will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in evaluating clients' muscle strength and range of motion, provide therapy to relieve pain, heal injuries, improve circulation and aid in the general wellness of clients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Evaluate clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, range of motion Consult with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful Attend and remain current on all mandatory training and staff meetings Accurately maintain records and ensure proper tracking of client information Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility Hold a current massage therapists' certification Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands described here are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
