The Material Handler maintains production and distribution and is responsible for freight loading, unloading, stocking, and preparation of pallets of product to be shipped.
Additionally, Materials Handlers are integral components of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and other initiatives.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Requirements
What you'll do: Loading, unloading, shipping and receiving of warehouse items Transporting materials to different locations within the facility Schedule inbound delivery trucks for cartons and pallets receipts as well as bales Receives products from outside vendors into the system.
Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying the materials and supplies code, lot number, and quantity and placing the materials in stock.
Prepares customer shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, wrapping, loading, and securing products.
Release orders from the computer system after carrier pick-up Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
Labeling orders/repairing damaged cartons.
Inventory cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
Keep inventory and warehouse clean.
Interact with drivers/vendors daily.
Hang paper rolls on presses as needed.
Stage all waste including all recyclable materials.
Follow safety/company regulations on forklift/equipment.
Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and conducting operator maintenance.
Identify issues (overruns, wrong item #'s at location, scheduling conflicts, etc.)
to the supervisor.
Facilitate year-end paper audit.
Back up the Pick and Pack department, Waste Handler, and Paper Handling Equipment Operator as needed.
Other duties as directed by management.
You're Background: High school diploma or equivalent Prior sit-down forklift experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired.
(Clamp truck experience a plus, but will train) Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Excellent time management skills with a focus on deadlines Strong computer skills: WMS, MS Office, RF Guns, etc.
Familiarity with standard practices in the Shipping/Receiving environment is necessary.
Ability to work flexible schedules.
Detail-oriented, ability to balance speed with accuracy.
