GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Materials Coordinator within Henry Ford Health supplies leadership and direction within Supply Chain Management or inpatient department, as applicable.
Performs administrative and clerk roles as business demands are identified.
Responsible for medical supplies distribution and receiving, preparing, and dispatching orders accordingly.
Responsible for ordering materials and supplies that are necessary for running the activities within an integrated health system.
Responsible for collaborating with vendors or other distribution agents and packaged goods for distribution while performing job.
Responds to special requests as needed.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as a team lead helping those who need help and taking on more difficult task.

Orders, records, or returns materials or items received or distributed within Henry Ford Health.
Uses personal computer, handheld device, or other supplied tools to enter, edit or maintain records, orders or other communication pertaining to receipt, delivery, and distribution of material.
Completes requisition forms to order supplies to fulfill supply needs.
Prepare parcels for mailing.
Maintains inventory records and reports.
Receives Material at loading dock in a priority manner.
Maintain the confidentiality and security by following all governmental requirements relating to safe and proper distribution within a healthcare facility.
Maintain accurate records, complete order forms and special requests.
10.Retrieve and stock inventory items.
11.Fill inventory orders by gathering, packaging, and posting materials.
12.Verify reports against purchase order requirements.
13.Perform physical counts of inventory items.
14.Conveys materials and items from receiving other designated areas.
15.Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to
predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
16.Locate, retrieve, and load inventory items, manually and through the operation of pallet jack, forklift, and other warehouse equipment.
17.Work competently with full range of movements and maintain an active level of physical activity most of the day including walking, climbing, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.
18.Communicate effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers.
19.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
20.Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
21.Marks materials with identifying information.
22.Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
23.Resolve discrepancies between receipts and purchase order requirements
24.Advise in-house customers regarding the status of inventory items, availability, amount, and condition.
25.Removes expired product in a timely manner.
26.Reviews supply or linen storage areas and makes deliveries of needed items to HFHS units.
27.Complies with Code of Conduct for the facility in which they are working at.
28.Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent with aminimum of 1-3 months prior work experience.
• Previous experience in materials distribution or linen handling preferred.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
