As a Materials Test Engineer you will resolve problems, analyze factual information from multiple sources and identify effective solutions. You will be responsible for defined technical packages of working, be the point of contact within Materials Engineering, and actively promote, encourage, and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:
Applying strong technical and functional knowledge of standardized and specialized thermo-mechanical test methods for ceramic composite material systems and their environmental and mechanical behavior and performanceSetting-up, conducting, and documenting material testing activities that comply with the quality level of data generatedWorking with an integrated product team of design, materials and manufacturing engineersExecuting material testing plans, coordinating suppliers, developing, writing and maintaining specifications, and identifying structure property relationshipsDirecting daily work of test techniciansExpand and maintain growing database of test results in a highly organized mannerActively promote, encourage, and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider teamBasic Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience, ORBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience, ORMaster's or PhD, OR6 years of experience in lieu of degreeTechnical experience relevant to the Engineering disciplineAn ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to a range of technical problemsKnowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworksMembership in a relevant professional body appropriate to the region. In the UK - attained / working towards Chartered status is preferredTo be considered for this role you must be a US citizenPreferred Qualifications:
Significant experience with thermo-mechanical test methods and equipmentGood written and oral communication skills in EnglishStrong knowledge of data acquisition systems and database managementAbility to critically reduce and analyze test data and summarize in concise formBackground in ceramic matrix composites or metal/polymer matrix composites in aerospace or related technical fieldExperience in identifying structure to property relationshipsSix sigma and/or LEAN knowledgeAbility to identify and develop new suppliersISO9001 / AS9100 experienceAbility to travel up to 20%Pioneer the next generation of innovation.
