Amazon Retail Finance seeks an analytical, results-oriented Sr. Financial Analyst to support the Consumables finance team for Japan. This role acts as a right-hand person of Category Leaders in respective business units and supports healthy growth and financial operation through detailed financial modeling, driving business initiatives, and identifying/implementing key business indicators.

While exact weight depends on each assignment, general responsibilities of Retail Finance in Amazon include the following:
Lead both multi-year business planning and annual forecasts with detailed financial analysis for business segments and initiatives. Identify opportunities for sales and profit, translate them to action plans, audit business teams' assumptions and plans, and ensure proper and sufficient action plans are developed.Lead forecast updates to keep management up to date. Conduct timely reviews with explanations to forecast changes and variance vs. actual, and communicate business issues to management and business partners.Conduct a variety of analyses on demand; pricing, product sourcing strategy, new category or store launches, new business models, co-promotion opportunities, and other merchandising strategies.Simulate benefits and costs for new business and business models to support business teams in financial process designs.Conduct overall cost analysis including Retail operating components, Supply Chain and logistics, as well as General and Administration costs.Design strategies with Supply Chain management to create a low-cost supply chain and identify opportunities for cost reduction.Partner with other finance teams to develop all weekly and monthly financial close activities, planning forecasting, and reporting models.Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure key decision data is accurate, automated, and timely.Track and manage budgets and headcounts, reviewing and approving cost/fee structure change proposals and investments.Coach and grow subordinates and/or newer team members.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Currently enrolled in MBA or equivalent master's level program at the time of application with a graduation date between December 2024 – September 2025
- 3+ years of full-time industry work experience prior to starting your MBA or Master's program
- Business level fluency in both English and Japanese (in both written and verbal format)
- 3+ years' finance experience in an organization with world-class processes, or 3+ years' experience in consulting or financial institution.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and project analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Business level fluency in Japanese (in both written and verbal format)
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business or related field
- 5+ years in finance roles with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
- Experience in setting up business cases and driving financial conclusions, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
