Job Title: Senior Securities and M&A Lawyer
Overview:
Our client isseeking an experienced Senior Lawyer with a practice in Securities and M&A for their growing business group. The lawyer will have current client relationships within Securities and M&A. This opening is ideal for anyone with a thriving practice who is seeking greater work/life balance via a reduced annual hourly billable target or to have admin and associate support so that you can focus on providing legal counsel.
What the day-to-day will look like:
* Provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients within public and private sectors on complex transactions.
* Create and review transactional documents such as purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, partnerships agreements, and other documents while advising clients on corporate law matters. Negotiate and provide counsel on the matters.
* Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate reorganizations and joint ventures.
* Lead the due diligence process to identify and mitigate any risks.
* Provide guidance on securities law compliance matters, including public offerings, private placements, and regulatory filings.
* Assist clients in structuring and executing private equity investments.
Requirements:
* Requires 8 or more years of experience.
* Entrepreneurial spirit.
* Exceptional client generation skills.
* Juris Doctor (J.D.).
* Licensed to practice within British Columbia and in good standing.
* Has portable book of business within BC; ideal for soloists or anyone who would like an enhanced work/life balance and firm culture.
