Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this position TheM.D.S.
Coordinator is responsible for conducting and coordinating thedevelopment of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and all that entails inaccordance with the required regulations and the policies and goals of RCH.This includes stand-up meetings to coordinate the management of Medicareresidents under PPS and the care plan meetings for all residents as requiredalong with reviewing and updating care plans after each assessment.
The StaffDeveloper assumes responsibility for In-service Education and Continuing Education,and monitoring of records for the certified nursing assistants as required byDHS regulations .
Ability to meet all job & physical requirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work place accommodation.EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as an LVN providing direct nursing care in an LTC facility preferred Training in RAI completion preferred Knowledge and experience in completing MDS to meet requirements preferred Knowledge and experience regarding Medicare criteria and PPS related to the RAI process preferred Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations preferredCERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Current CA LVN License required Current CPR certification required Elder abuse training required within 60 days of hire DSD certification required within 90 days of hire For DSD, either: One-year experience as an LVN providing direct nursing care in an LTC facility and one-year experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in the field of nursing, orTwo years of full-timeexperience as an LVN, at least one year of which must be in the provision ofdirect patient care in a nursing facility, and attendance at staff developertraining course required within 90 days of hire
