Responsibilities Performing mechanical maintenance with minimal supervision Coordinating and planning major overhauls of OEM equipment supported by 3rd party vendors Routine maintenance and PM's as assigned Completing all task required in CMMS Coordinating and overseeing major repairs and overhauls on pumps, compressors and engines Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of equipment associated with Pyrolysis process Repair, rebuild and replace centrifugal/positive displacement pumps, air compressors, industrial cooling fans, gas/diesel engines, electrical generators, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and HVAC systems Replacing/refurbishing mechanical seals Perform alignment of rotating equipment using both conventional and automated means Working on hydraulic man lifts, forklifts and other rolling plant equipment Initiating mechanical maintenance without direct supervision and directing small contract work group in daily activities as required Leading annual turnarounds and assist contract support teams Documenting critical work (written reports for tracking equipment history) and maintaining shop equipment, tooling and consumable inventory Actively participating in job planning Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored Follow procedures at all times according to all Standard Operating Procedures and plant procedures Adhere to all OSHA and plant mandated HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards.
Evaluates changes in work environment with respect to impact on safety of self and others.
Understands potential threats created by deviation from safety procedures and improper use of tools and equipment.
Uses personal protection equipment.
Uses tools and equipment in compliance with manuals and training.
Calls attention to potential and actual hazardous conditions as they arise.
Demonstrates knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures.
Required to use Stops Work Authority if there are unsafe working conditions.
Qualifications Ability to multitask and handle multiple simultaneous assignments Self-motivated Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills Ability to work a 4 day week, 10 hour day with the possibility of evenings, weekends, holidays and/or respond to callouts as necessary The ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and company Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets and using CMMS system for plant PM's is required Minimum High School Diploma and 6 to 8 years experience as plant mechanic.
Formal training/trade school accounts for 3 years experience, technical or trade school education in mechanical or related field is preferred Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., work in adverse weather conditions The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required 5+ years of direct industrial experience with rotating equipment Use of automated alignment equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly found in plant equipment.
