Position Title: Mechanical Developer / Engineer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties: Support manufacturing processes with design changes related to cost improvement, production yield and customer requirements. Integrate technical faculties to coordinate the realization of conceptual designs in the MCB Product lines. Control the design of Residential and Commercial MCB's (10 – 225A) to ensure manufacturing, customer, and core standard requirements. Apply knowledge of Codes and Standards in Residential Systems to MCB breaker designs. Evaluate different concepts assessing technical and commercial aspects. Utilize Lean and Agile methodologies for development projects and design changes. Collaborate with other R&D teams, Manufacturing, Quality, and other department to insure full system integration. Travel to manufacturing locations for product engineering support. 10% international and 5% domestic travel.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or as a Product Engineer for Residential Circuit Breakers, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following: Thermal simulation experience; 3D CAD modeling; Project management; Electrical contacts design; Arc interruption knowledge; Molding (thermoset and thermoplastic) Circuit breaker prototyping; SAP experience. 10% international and 5% domestic travel.
