We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to help develop, integrate, and test completed designs. You will assist with analysis and design tasks within schedule and budget. As the Mechanical Engineer II you will support the transition to production and oversees the design of agreed to changes to the configuration baseline.
Mechanical Engineer I Responsibilities*Analyze fuel, HVAC, steering, hydraulic, and propulsion systems to determine size requirements, power requirements, performance curves, and associated lossesPerform hand calculations and FEA on structuralcomponents/assemblies to verify working stressesEstablish functional and acceptance test plans for system designsPartner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutionsDevelop engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit for purpose engineering deliverables, and presenting material associated with the above life-cycle reviewsPartner with Weight Manager to monitor and control the weight of the systems to meet design targetsCreate and review of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design dataSystem life-cycle activities – including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Detailed/Critical Design Review (DDR/CDR)Release drawings into Product Life Cycle Management system following company workflowCreate engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarityPartner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutionsMechanical Engineer I Position Requirements*Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assembliesKnowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programsProficien in Micrisoft OfficeKnowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process
