Mechanical Engineer

Simbe's Mechanical Engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for assisting with the mechanical design, testing, and manufacturing of our Tally autonomous mobile robots. This will include incorporating feedback and improvement requests from various teams and customers and taking these requests through the design process from concept generation and prototyping to rolling into production using best design practices. The Mechanical Engineer will also aid in new product development for Simbe's next generation robotics platform and related products. Core responsibilities for this position will include:
\n Understanding of mechanical and electrical components within Simbe products and how they interact with each other and the surrounding environmentsSolve issues and create improvements related to the manufacturing and deployment of Simbe products (component, assembly, field)Participate in the design process and design reviews of any components or systemsEnsure communication of changes with designs to vendors and key stakeholders QualificationsBS/MS  in mechanical engineering or related field2+ years of mechanical engineering experienceResults-driven problem solver who takes ownership of issues and drives them to resolutionStrong CAD design skills: Solidworks preferred Experience with GD&T, 2-D Drawings, Assembly Drawings Experience with Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, Failure Analysis, and Simulation SoftwareKnowledge of different manufacturing processes: Sheet metal, Injection molding, Cast Urethane, CNC Machining, Additive, etc.Familiar with the engineering design process in taking concepts into manufacturingExperience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment helping organizations scaleStrong communication skills across a cross-disciplinary teamLocation: Bay Area Bonus PointsPortfolio of past work/projectsFamiliarity with PLM systemsExperience working with Contract ManufacturersExperience with vendor communication and managementKnowledge of Linux/ROSFamiliar with electrical concepts and PCBA manufacturing
\n$80,000 - $120,000 a year
