Mechanical Engineer, SeniorKey Role: Bring strong mechanical engineering competency for Navy clients. Help Navy acquisition organizations to acquire or develop mission-suitable Naval vessels and systems. Apply mechanical engineering expertise to Naval vessels and systems, and perform and support related research and development (R & D), integration, and test and evaluation (T & E) activities in support of acquisition programs for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems. Bring a zest for understanding how vessels and their systems are designed, how the mechanical engineering discipline contributes to the overall realization of a system, and how to find and proactively mitigate risks in system designs. Leverage advanced mechanical engineering skills along with strong communication skills. Work cross-functionally with a technical and acquisition team consisting of engineers of other disciplines and lead technical activities in support of program office efforts. Grow the skills and capabilities of junior engineers and promote a positive, inclusive culture.
Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of experience with mechanical engineeringKnowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for defense systemsAbility to analyze mechanical designs through review of design artifactsAbility to perform quantitative analyses of mechanical systemsAbility to work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, acquisition professionals, and logistics and sustainment professionals to achieve program outcomesTop Secret clearanceBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringAdditional Qualifications: Knowledge of Navy acquisition processesKnowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for Naval ships and systemsPossession of strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical communicationMaster's degree in Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) CertificationClearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
