We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for designing new electro-mechanical assemblies for space robotics system from conceptual to detailed design, manufacturing, and evaluation. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design electro-mechanical assemblies to achieve high performance and reliable space robotic products
Lead a broad range of development activities from initial design through manufacturing and testing with a strong hands-on approach
Encourage collaboration with electrical and software design teams to achieve optimal robot assembly configurations
Design and conduct various types of tests such as operation verification test, reliability and lifetime evaluation, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of professional industry experience in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in designing electro-mechanical components that consist of a large number of precise components, such as actuators
Exspaties of mechanical drawing based on a strong understanding of GD&T
Excellent hands-on 3D CAD skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong hands-on skills for assemblying electro-mechanical components
Strong hands-on skills for various types of environmental testing such as vibration, thermal, and vacuum etc.
Fundamental and practical understanding of thermal design in mechanical design
Experience with both small R&D phase products and mass production
Practical understanding and experience in failure analysis
Strong understanding of metallic materials for aerospace applications, including stainless steels, aluminum alloys, and titanium alloys
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as needed
