At LCRA, we are currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Associate to join our generation department! Working as a generation engineering associate at LCRA is a key function to support the reliable supply of electricity for the people of Central Texas. The LCRA Hydro facilities use vintage equipment with modern updates to perform in the competitive Texas electric market. It will be an exciting time as the units adapt to evolving market needs.
This position requires performing variety of engineering assignments including but not limited to field investigation, troubleshooting, report writing, design calculations, and drawing plans and details. There will be opportunities to learn on the job, use engineering principles, and great comradery with co-workers. You will be trusted to:
- Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
- Plan and design engineering projects, Performs engineering and design work. Conduct field analysis, inspections, and performance tests. Develop testing plans. Interpret engineering specifications.
- Prepare technical specifications for project services, equipment, and materials. Complete related computations and drafts schematics and diagrams.
- Coordinate project reviews and implementation plans between individuals and sections. Ensure timely communications occur, as needed, on project activities.
- Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturers specifications for field personnel. Coordinate and review the work of Engineering Associates.
- Prepare and revise operating procedures and project outlines in connection with engineering assignments.
- May perform confined space entry.
You qualify with:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus four or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
- Driver's license
