The co-op performs assignments which have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Responsibilities: Works in a safe manner at all times. Adheres to both Matrix and client established safety standards when appropriate.Acts in a support role to the project engineer or technical lead. Assigned small tasks which are checked upon completion and before moving onto the next task.Works with more experienced project team members or design projects.Generate CAD drawings based on detailed design provided by an experienced project team member.Follow company design standards.Identify and use appropriate tool for each application. Specifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Must be a college student enrolled in an accredited ABET mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology degree program. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs.This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens.
