Skills Strong knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation Familiarity with federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF Viewer Experience with AutoCAD Fabrication, EstMEP, and Quotesoft Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders Responsibilities Collect and analyze historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects Consult with clients, vendors, internal departments, and construction foremen to formulate estimates and resolve issues Prepare estimates to support planning, organizing, and scheduling work Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on cost estimate adjustments Review contracts and bid documents for accurate project turnover Participate in pre-bid and scope clarification meetings Perform quantitative take-offs and enter data into estimating software Prepare scope letters and proposals for potential projects Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors Coordinate with the Engineering Department as needed Ensure estimating documents are centrally saved in the companys confidential drive Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes Escalate critical issues to the Estimating Manager with recommended solutions Comply with all company policies and safety programs Perform additional duties as required Qualifications Previous experience in the construction industry is required Previous estimating experience is required Previous sheet metal experience is a plus High school diploma or GED required Experience with estimating sheet metal duct work preferred Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Bachelors degree preferred Education Requirements Credential Category High School Diploma Bachelors Degree (preferred) Experience Requirements Previous experience in the construction industry Estimating experience with sheet metal is a plus Why work in Cincinnati, OH
