Mechanical Inspector

Full job description BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES Performs on-site inspections for HVAC installations. Works closely with contractors and building owners to determine compliance of newly constructed, remodeled and existing structure to state and local codes. Examines construction plans and blueprints to determine compliance to applicable codes. Initiates compliance actions when violations are found. Maintains records and prepares a variety of reports along with assisting residents with questions regarding heating, refrigeration and plumbing systems.
SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING Basic computer skills in word processing and basic experience with BS&A permit tracking software preferred.
EDUCATION High School Diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of 4 years of experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) preferred. Registered as a Mechanical Inspector and Plan Reviewer under Act No. 407 of the Public Acts of 2016 of the State of Michigan.
