Job Description Job Summary
Perform intermediate technical work for the design and fabrication of mechanical devices and electromechanical equipment and structures.
Operate machine tools in the fabrication of mechanical devices and related parts.
This position will interact on a regular basis with: staff, students and researchers.
This position typically will advise and counsel: staff, students and researchers.
This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities Job Duty 1 -
Program machine tools to required settings using CAD-CAM software.
Job Duty 2 -
Confer with customers to determine nature and scope of machining work required.
Job Duty 3 -
Read and interpret sketches, prints, etc.
Job Duty 4 -
Perform machine operations to fabricate specified devices and parts.
Job Duty 5 -
Maintain and repair machine tools and related equipment.
Job Duty 6 -
May assist faculty and students with design, use of experimental apparatus, and fabrication of teaching and research equipment.
Job Duty 7 -
Provide training to entry level technicians and others assisting in the fabrication process.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Five to six years of job related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS
Advanced machine tool setup, operation, maintenance and repair; reading and interpreting sketches and mechanical design prints and drawings; communications.
