Job Description Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documentation: blueprints, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical components and systems (drives, bearings, gears, pneumatics, and hydraulics) with demonstrated ability to make practical application for troubleshooting and continual improvement efforts.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance practices (balance, alignment, and lubrication).
Strong proficiency in Progressive Maintenance daily management systems: Work planning and Scheduling, Breakdown Elimination Strong proficiency in the use and application of SAP to access, update, and create maintenance standards.
Qualifications Ability to work flexible shifts and work up to a (12) hour shift. Must be able to read and write as well as have a basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in order to complete required reports.
Must possess the analytical ability to understand safety hazards.
Must be able to manually lift with both hands up to 50lbs.
from floor level to waist level or vice-versa at least 3 times per shift.
Must possesses the physical stamina to walk, stand, stoop or bend up to 100% of shift Must be able to communicate with leadership, mechanics and co-workers for safety, quality and production concerns.
