Job Purpose Ensuring site mechanical maintenance contracts are up to date and that service levels are monitored. Carry out repairs for all mechanical equipment to ensure the smooth running of the site.
Reports to Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities Monitor and control service/maintenance contracts so that equipment is safe to use. Ensure all records are kept up-to-date and accurate, and in compliance with current legislation and EPA standards. Responsible for repairs and maintenance for the whole site, including routine maintenance as per the quality systems including filling equipment, hoses, filters, and pumps. Keep up-to-date detailed information and records in the maintenance system, carrying out reviews of records so as to identify improvement opportunities. Maintain quality control of site equipment and perform reactive maintenance to ensure the safe and continued running of all plant equipment. Maintenance should be carried out promptly with added preventative tasks to ensure reactive maintenance is not required in the future. Perform tests to confirm that systems are leak-tight, weighing correctly, and functioning to design and within the test. This should include the development of equipment to ensure it is refreshed regularly to maintain the aesthetic standard. Ensure all tests are carried out and recorded as appropriate. Coordinate with EH&S on performing risk assessment and hazard identification for all tasks being undertaken by you and your sub-contractors, resulting in a competent completion of tasks creating a safer working environment. Control and review of service/maintenance contracts for all site equipment, including forklifts, stacker trucks, air system, and air conditioning. Monitor the level of service received and pass off work so that equipment is safe to use. Maintain preventative maintenance log and open maintenance request log to accurately track all services provided, and forecast future projects completion. Deliver training for site staff where necessary to ensure the site personnel is working to the latest operational standards. Work with operational staff to maintain and minimize equipment downtime in accordance with site requirements. Work in accordance with all company policies relating to health & safety. Other tasks as reasonably required. Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications Essential High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience as a hands-on maintenance technician, with the ability to spend up to 70% of the time on the floor. Working knowledge of mechanical pumps, hoses, connections, and fittings. Working knowledge of transferring liquids and gasses from large bulk tanks, ISO's, and containers to cylinders and storage tanks. Computer literate in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques. Desirable College courses completed in a related area, or skilled tradesman training. Experience of pressurized liquefied gas systems. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. Worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts.
