*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients, ensuring they receive their medications safely and effectively.
This position is essential for maintaining the well-being of individuals in various settings, including assisted living, hospice care, and memory care facilities.
The Medication Aide will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient needs and enhance their quality of life.
*Responsibilities*
* Administer prescribed medications to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
* Monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to the nursing staff.
* Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Maintain accurate medication records and documentation as required by state regulations.
* Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns and answering questions regarding medication administration.
* Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans for patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized care.
* Support emergency medicine procedures as needed, including phlebotomizing when necessary.
* Lift and assist patients as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to promote safety for both the aide and the patient.
*Experience*
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving patient service or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
* Familiarity with hospital medicine practices, hospice care, assisted living environments, and memory care is advantageous.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment are essential.
