Job SummaryOur Medicaid Billing Administrator Intern will be responsible for managing and overseeing the billing processes for services covered under Medicaid, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with our billing team to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims in accordance with Medicaid regulations. A flexible schedule is allowed, but availability of 5 days per week is preferred.
Education & ExperienceCurrent college student, or recent graduate.Applicants must be pursuing or have a completed Bachelor's degree in Medical Billing & Coding, or a related field. Those with equivalent work experience will be considered.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcess Medicaid Claims: Assist in processing Medicaid claims using NJMMIS under supervision.Submit CMS 1500 Forms: Learn to submit CMS 1500 forms for reimbursement.Resolve Claim Issues: Support in resolving claim issues and denials, with guidance from experienced staff.Understand Compliance: Gain an understanding of compliance with Medicaid regulations and guidelines.Collaborate with Billing Team: Work with the billing team to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.Skills & AbilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Strong technology skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn billing software quickly.Requirements & QualificationsMust consent to and pass a formal background check including fingerprinting.Strong interest in healthcare billing and administration.Basic understanding of ICD10 codes and CMS 1500 form submission preferred.Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.ScheduleWe are offering flexible hours.
